owsposters: Why Prices Are Rising At The Pump I am perpetually astounded by how little Americans pay at the gas pump. While general oil-producing nations tend to subsidize their gas prices (because the citizens of such countries feel that because it’s a national resource they’re entitled to it), America… is so freaking cheap.  A gas fill up in Switzerland is typically over 50 Francs.  A gas fill up in Malaysia was typically 60 Ringgit (20 USD).  Regarding the earlier point about oil-producing nations, I saw a report that because of Iran’s tightening of the belt (due to international sanctions) they’re actually weaning their people off that idea and bringing the gas price more to the international standard.  Just an FYI, guys. You still have it good regarding gas prices.
